Presidential candidate Catherine Connolly TD has today called on people across Ireland to make their voices heard, and use their vote in the Presidential election to shape the future of the country.
Speaking as her campaign holds a nationwide “Super Saturday” day of action, with volunteers and supporters canvassing in towns, villages, and city centres across the country, Catherine said:
“This election is about more than choosing a President - it’s about choosing the kind of Ireland we want to be. Your vote is your voice. Use it. Let it be heard - for fairness in society, for equality, for Irish unity, for the values that bring people together.”
Catherine said that the energy of her campaign is now becoming a movement for change that reaches beyond party lines and old divisions:
“I am deeply proud that my campaign has brought together people from every background - from all parties and from none, from trade unions, community groups, civil society organisations and ordinary citizens who want a fairer, more equal and united Ireland.
“What is emerging is not just a campaign for the Presidency, but a movement that can help shape the direction of Irish politics - one grounded in solidarity, equality, and hope.”
Catherine said that at a time when so many feel unheard or excluded, the Presidency must stand as a moral voice for all citizens:
“People are crying out for leadership that listens. I will be a President who raises people’s voices - who speaks up for those who too often go unheard. That is what this campaign is about- fairness, community, equality and unity.”
Across the country today, large teams of campaigners are taking to the streets under the slogans “Your Vote is Your Voice” and “Use Your Vote” - urging people to make their voices count on polling day.
“This is a moment of real possibility,” Catherine added. “Together we can shape a future rooted in justice, dignity and hope - a future where every person, every community, and every part of this island belongs.”
