Where do I vote?

How to find your polling station

If you recieved your polling card, the address of your polling station is on that, underneath your own name and address (see image).

If you didn't recieve your polling card, you can still vote, just bring an ID and find your polling station using one of the links below - there is one system for those registered in Dublin, and another for other counties, so pick the relevant link for you:

Am I eligible to vote in the Presidential Election?

To vote in the Presidential election you must be:

  1. An Irish Citizen.

  2. Over 18 on 24-10-2025. You can pre-register from age 16.

  3. Ordinarily resident in the 26 counties. This includes if you live here while studying, even if your home address is in the North or outside Ireland.

  4. Registered to Vote.

What do I need to bring with me to vote?

All you need to vote is yourself!

When you arrive, go up to the polling station staff and check-in with your name and address. They will hand you a ballot, and then you will find a private booth to vote in.

It is advisable to bring your polling card and a valid ID, but it is not legally required.

Polling stations are open from 7 AM to 10 PM.

How do I vote?

Similar to General and Local elections, you will use PR-STV. This means you should write a "1" next to your most preferred candidate, and if you would like to, rank the other candidates in descending order of preference. You do not have to rank more than one candidate.

We encourage you to rank Catherine Connolly #1: let's get a unifying, progressive Gaeilgeoir back in the Áras!
