Catherine Connolly welcomes announcement that Presidential Election is set for 24th October

Says she is excited about the opportunity to engage with people in every county

DUBLIN, 3rd September:

Presidential candidate Catherine Connolly TD said “I’m delighted that the election date has been set. I have been travelling all around the country for the last six weeks, meeting and engaging with so many people. It has been a joy and a privilege for me and I have been overwhelmed by the reception and the support I’m receiving. I’m looking forward to redoubling our campaign efforts and to visiting every county in the just over seven weeks that we have to meet people on this campaign”.

“In the coming days I will be in Sligo tomorrow for a full day of events culminating in a discussion in the Glasshouse Hotel moderated by Dr Keith Hopper (Lecturer in Writing and Literature in ATU). I’ll also be in Leitrim on Saturday to meet with people and for a sit-down interview with Carole Coleman in St George’s Heritage Centre, Carrick on Shannon. On Friday, I’ll be at the Forsa Youth Conference in Trinity College in Dublin, where I’m looking forward to participating in a panel discussion on neutrality and Palestine, issues that are at the heart of my campaign”.

“The following week I will be in Laois, Donegal, Shannon and Cork. We will be adding many more events and engagements in the next few days and people will be able to stay up to date on where I will be from the events map on our campaign website”.

“This is an important moment in which the people will have the opportunity to elect me to be their voice for justice, for equality and for the common good. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the weeks ahead”.
